Stop animation Sequence By Holly King

  • This 6 second lond stop animation, is made up of 50 different images.
  • The images needed to run is such quick succession so that the unicorns looked like they were moving.
  • We decided to experiement with stop animation in our short film to show how lonliness and isolation can lead to things becoming surreal and dream like.
  • To create this sequence we had to insert all the files in the correct order-then export them as a movie file. We then reinserted this into final cut pro, into place on the short film. By right clocking on the file we were able to change the suration of the sequemce-to make the different images move quickly (origionally each image was 3 seconds long).
  • We both worked on the stop animations in the editing process.

  1. This is great. Really good to explain this technique, but a few comments on what you hoped to communicate by this would be good (ie the fact that narration moves from objective to subjective here/3rd to 1st person).

  2. Can you do the same for the biscuits sequence? These are lovely moments in the film and you should make as much of them as you can on the blog.
