Editing by Freya

16th January
We're continuing to edit and have nearly come to the end so all we need to do now is transfer a copy of our film to Garage Band and do the sound.  We need a background track, and we've looked at this one as an idea: Do You Think There's a Heaven-extended version feat Niall Patterson.  Since this track is an 'extended version' that was completed by a member of youtube I think that it won't infringe copyright laws.  It's an acoustic downbeat track, that I think really reflects the feeling of boredom and loneliness in our main character.  As it's only two minutes along we'll need another or longer track to go with our film.
Our editing has gone quite well, we've had some trouble with the lighting on some of our shots which we've filtered to look better, and our film is over the time limit by about a minute, so we'll have to go back through our film and shorten or delete certain unnecessary shots.  We've had a few continuity errors, for example in one shot I'm putting on a watch and in the next shot the watch is no longer there, which has made things complicated.  Luckily we had so many takes of every shot that there are many slightly different versions, and we can usually find one that makes the continuity work.

  1. Good that you have shot enough to deal with unforseen problems - this is excellent practice. The music you mention may be ok, but you'll need to try to contact the musician asap to find out whether you can use it.
