Our Film by Freya

Christmas Holidays 2011
We tried to film our original idea during the holiday on multiple occasions, but every time a problem seemed to arise.  I ended up having to go to my grandmas twice for quite a long time, interupting our filming plans, while Holly also had family to visit.
Because of this we started to feel panicked because we only had a certain amount of holiday left and our actors were not free when we were.

January 1st and 2nd 2012
We finally met up and realised that we'd have to be flexible and change our idea to work with our circumstances.  Firstly, since we had no male friends available that were both willing and free to film we decided to change the two main characters to female.  But on such short notice we couldn't find any free girls either, and we knew that to use both me and Holly as main characters would be a challenge as we'd have no one to work the camera while we acted.  So we decided that we would have to just change our idea completely to compromise as we could only use one of us to act.  We spent a few hours planning:
  1. Deciding on a new, original idea that only needs one female actor (probably took us the longest!)
  2. Drawing out a storyboard so we knew shot by shot what was happening from what angle.
  3. Getting our props (slinky, windup toy, bouncy ball, laptop, ipod, book, food, toy unicorns) ready.
  4. Preparing the room that we were filming in ready, trying to make it look suitable to the character we were trying to create.
  5. Getting the costume ready, we needed one set of pyjamas and two seperate day outfits.
It than took us around five hours to film.  We decided that I would be the actor as Holly has acted in previous films we've done.
Although it was rushed and it was a shame that all our previous planning was to go to waste because of lack of help we were quite proud of our result, and the fact that we adapted so well to the situation and managed to just get on with our film.  It proved that we work well together, even under pressure.

  1. Yes, you have adapted to the situation, but I am rather concerned about this development. You really ought to have blogged on this - there were no posts at all over the xmas period - and you'll need to upload the new planning material asap. I suggest you put headings in, so that if you have to concentrate on the editing, you can go back to the new planning. Alternatively, you could use this heading, and provide all of the material you say there is. In order to get the marks, you'll need to re-do all of the planning elements listed on the planning deadline.

  2. We were unable to film until the end of the holiday because we were bothaway with family. Because we had no actors we had to change our idea which ment completely replanning- we have done the preproduction planning for our new idea which will be uploaded asap , however we thought it was more important to get all the filming done and upload the preproduction when possible following this
